Artist Statement:
This work features Daisy Duck superimposed onto a skeletal figure. Depending on the viewer’s perception, it can be seen either as a beloved childhood cartoon character or as a confronting image of mortality.
In this work Kayf explores the tension between innocence and impermanence, the playful familiarity of pop culture contrasted with the stark reality of the human condition. The juxtaposition invites reflection on how nostalgia and decay can coexist within the same frame, revealing the delicate balance between joy and transience.
