‘Grabbing the Bull’

The bull embodies or symbolises masculinity, strength, virility, courage, forcefulness. Bull cults occurred in First Dynasty Egypt, Minoan Crete and elsewhere in the ancient world. The bull is part of Hindu mythology. It is central to cultural practices in traditional African societies. ‘Grabbing the Bull’ is a bit of a pun on rampant male virility, perhaps in need of some restraint or self-control.
