Born in Mariannhill South Africa in 1970, plants have informed Sally’s world since childhood. Sally now lives in Rosetta in the KwaZulu Natal midlands, surrounded by indigenous red grass land and flora.

“I am surrounded by my reference, painting daily the narrative and emotion of plant life as it evolves, seed germinating to flowering, growing and eventual decline back to earth. My world walks in botanicals.
Season on season this rich journey totally captivates me and inspires my work. I record this narrative by sketching and painting, acrylic and ink on paper or canvas, leaning on my artist brush skills gained over practice the past 30 years. The nostalgia and storytelling of this African continents’ rich botanical artist history continually enriches my seasonal journey with plants. I find great meaning and expression recording how plants make me feel.”
