Originally trained as an architect Philippe made the move into the arts industry in 1997 in France. Bousquet is known for using found materials and scrap objects to create innovative and modern designs. Bousquet is environmentally sensitive and is also a social activist- his economical methods of choosing materials keeps him from causing wastage or harm to the atmosphere. His design style is humorous and yet modern which makes his work appealing to art investors today.
Bousquet moved to South Africa in 2004, where he became closely associated with the Southern Guild, exhibiting frequently with the design foundation. Bousquet has exhibited widely such as at The Bell Roberts Gallery, the Johannesburg Art Fair, Design Indaba, and the Everard Read Gallery. He currently is working on a showroom project called 'The Red Dog' which combines a love for design with and an environmentally friendly approach of creating and exhibiting art which is kind to the environment.
